About us ...

The project “Stancija 1904” a vacation place

In 1998, a Swiss-Croatian family, Rolf Moll (born 1949), his wife Draženka (born 1968) and daughter Vera (born 1995) settled in Istria.

In the following year, 1999, after ardous and extensive searching they bought a beautifully located property covering 6,000 m2 of land in a small idyllic village called Smoljanci. On this land there were several houses and a farm in need of restoration.

As a building and construction expert, Rolf Moll developed the “Stancija 1904” tourist project. Ensuring that Istrian architecture remained intact, the estate was completely renovated over a four year period combining modern building techniques. With all renovations complete, on the 18th July 2003 it opened its doors to tourists.

The name “Stancija“ means „village estate“ or „country estate“ separated from the main village area, while the year 1904 refers to the year when the water storage tank was built. It is the oldest object in this part of the country. The name „Stancija 1904“ originated in the year 2004 as a result of the abovementioned definitions, therefore, we are celebrating our estates 100th birthday!

Under the theme of „agri-tourism“, this unique „Stancija 1904“ project is considered as one of the most credible and worthy in its category in Istria. „Stancija 1904“ is categorised as four-star accommodation by the Department of the Economy!

As a guest you will experience a holiday in a family environment on the highest of possible levels. In all possible aspects, our guests are our number one priority.

We look forward to your visit and we are certain we will fulfill all your expectations!

Yours, the Moll Family
